What is a stable door?

At first glance, a stable door or stable style door may appear to look like any other uPVC door. However, when you look closer, they are not. As the images below demonstrate, the key difference with a stable door is that the top half can open independently from the bottom half.

We’ve shown this below by giving three examples from a recent installation where our stable door, in a modern Chartwell green, is fully closed, fully open and with just the top half open.

Strength and style with composite stable doors

Getting stable composite doors fitted used to mean nothing more than a door in two halves. Cute and charming, certainly – but not especially practical. But thanks to Safestyle, you can add a hard edge to the charm – secure, energy-efficient and with long-lasting good looks.

  • Add country-charm with our range of stable composite doors, available in 4 cottage styles.

  • Energy efficient and secure featuring Ultion 3*cylinder locks.

  • Featuring the best Q-Lon seals. They will keep draughts out longer after other seals have given up.

  • Available in both glazed and unglazed options.

External and internal stable doors

As well as external stable doors, you can also choose to install a stable door in other rooms in the house. As we will demonstrate below, you may wish to install a kitchen stable door, like one of our customers recently chose to do.
